Sushisamba London

First of all, I want to make it clear that this is not a review, this is a pure recommendation.  I was lucky enough, for my birthday, to be able to go to Sushisamba as a birthday surprise from my mum. Sushisamba is a sophisticated fusion restaurant in London with not only stunning food but breathtaking views of London.

The restaurant itself is located on the 38th and 39th floors of the building. With glass elevators, it's an amazing journey just to the restaurant let alone when you get in! On walking through the glass doors you are met with vibrant decorations and flattering lighting. the restaurant itself is surrounded by huge glass windows giving a panoramic view of the city.

On the balcony, you can find their rooftop bar with a stunning twinkling tree in the middle and fire pits outside; perfect for a few drinks on a starry night. There was a range of cocktails, all with familiar elements and special Sushisamba twists! I went for the Nina fresha; a combination of vodka, strawberry, grapefruit, and guava shaken with rhubarb bitters, lime and sugar. It was great, this was not my only one!

The food itself was absolutely stunning; with a mix of small and large plates, samba rolls, sashimi and all of the fish you can think of. With the addition of the premium wagyu beef and vegetarian options as well, there are dishes for everyone.

What I often think is missing from sushi restaurants are puddings. Not here! This stunning pudding was a combination of dulce de leche chocolate cake, coconut marshmallow, and salted caramel ice cream. It was a great sharing pudding, with each element being as delicious as the one before. Mum and I were also impressed with the range of nut free desserts, which is so often an issue when choosing a pudding!

The prices are like the restaurant; high. But from someone who is a lover of food and particularly sushi, it is an absolute must-visit for a special occasion. Make sure to book in advance and be warned that they have time limits on your tables, which are stuck to more so in the evening than lunch service. A stunning meal, with great service and a special feel throughout.
